Whiteboards, Magnets, and Pencils! Oh My!
Funded Nov 1, 2023Thank you so very much for the donation! The biggest impact was that of the whiteboard. I front loaded the special surprise, of course, and when it arrived the joy was overflowing from our room! All of the kiddos were so excited just to see the box, and when I finally mounted the whiteboard on the wall, at their height, screams of excitement was all it took to know this would be a huge success!
Student center rotations and reciprocal teaching opportunities are a daily occurrence of course, but the engagement and focus has increased! The kids are excited to learn and show what they know. All from a whiteboard mounted at their height, named, "The Kid Whiteboard." I know the right outcome has been achieved when parents say, "What is this kid whiteboard I keep hearing about? It's all the rage!"”
With gratitude,

Funded Oct 26, 2021I want to thank you so very much again! All the donations had a positive effect on my students. The kids absolutely loved the magic markers! Most first graders use only crayons to illustrate. They were absolutely thrilled when I taught them how to "outline" with the magic markers and then use crayons to "fill in" the remainder of the drawing. They thought the drawings looked so good - even "like a 5th grader would draw."
We recently finished reading, "The Koala Who Could." As we are studying NVACS, RL1.2, we are learning about lessons and morals within fiction stories. This book was easy to make connections with. The lesson, in a nutshell, is to try new things and to believe that you can do it. Without a doubt, this is an amazing story to help six- and seven-year-old students make connections with their own lives.
Buzzers!!! Buzzers!!! Buzzers!!! This is by far the most engaging tool a teacher can use. It takes a bit of practice to learn how to properly use them, but definitely worth the time! The kiddos LOVE these learning tools!
There were so many other donations that I haven't mentioned. Please know that all of them have had a huge impact on my students and me! The best part about this...these gifts will impact many, many students as the years pass!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Reed
