Nurturing Creativity: Promoting Mental Health
Funded Sep 29, 2024Thanks to the generous support of our donors, the new games and art supplies have had a profound impact on my students, enhancing both their mental health and creativity. For example, we recently introduced a new group activity using the donated board games, which provided an opportunity for students to engage in cooperative play while practicing important social-emotional skills like communication, problem-solving, and empathy. The art supplies have sparked incredible creativity in the classroom. Students have been able to create personal art projects that help them process their emotions and express themselves in a healthy way. When the materials were first revealed, the students were excited and immediately began experimenting with the new tools, eager to create and share with their peers.
Looking ahead, my students will continue to use the donated materials in upcoming projects that blend both creativity and mental health awareness. Additionally, the supplies will be used in group activities focused on building teamwork and resilience. These resources have not only provided students with creative outlets but also fostered a supportive environment where they feel safe to explore and express their emotions. We are excited to continue building on this foundation of creativity and mental health awareness, and we look forward to seeing the continued positive impact on our students' growth and well-being.”

Pizza Party, Anyone?
Funded Nov 16, 2021My students are loving their Ooni Koda Pizza Oven, thank you! Today was their first time using it and boy did they have FUN! One student even said, "Wow! I had so much fun that the class period passed in the blink of an eye!"
The students prepared cold-prove pizza dough on Monday and baked it on Wednesday. They created their own sauce, to boot! Once I showed them how to stretch their dough, layer the toppings, and use the pizza oven, the rest was history!
Not only did their jaws drop each time a pizza came out, but they enjoyed every bite. To say they were proud of themselves would be an understatement. Thank you for making this learning experience possible for them.”
