• Choose Chess!

  Thank you so much for your support of this project! We are so grateful for your ongoing support of libraries and literacy!

  Our students are using these chess books to improve their game and to generate discussions about strategies and the history of chess. Every single one of these books has already been checked out of our library at least one time. It is very exciting to see students gravitate towards an interest and be able to learn more about it by checking out books from the school library! This kind of project gets students reading and learning without them even realizing it!

• Super "Shea" Books!

  Thank you so much for your generous donation to this project! I am so excited to add these books to our library's collection! We had no books by the author Bob Shea until this project was funded and now, we have quite a selection to offer to our young readers.

  Our local public library was promoting these books through their Winter Reading Challenge, and this created a buzz among our students. They are very excited to now be able to check out these fun books from our school's library. Bob Shea writes books that create magic for his readers, they make kids smile and encourage them to keep on reading. This excitement is contagious and helps create a culture of reading!!

• "Fall" into Good Books!

  Thank you so much for your generous support of this project! I am looking forward to adding these books to our library's seasonal collection and providing students with the opportunity to see themselves reflected in the books on our shelves!

  Seasonal books are some of the most popular books that circulate in our library. Elementary students enjoy reading books that reflect their own experience and having books that reflect what is happening outside in the world and at home in their families is an important way to meet that demand. However, our school's seasonal collection was quite dated, and the characters and traditions did not always still appeal to our students. These new books will be an exciting addition to our collection!
