  • Tania's Tiny Tots!

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

Now that the year has officially started I can truly share with you the impact that your generous donation has made, on my students. My Students are from an impoverished community, and school supplies are sometimes hard to come by for some of their parents, however, I never want a child to go without, so helping my students to have supplies like pencils, gluesticks, construction paper, among other classroom essentials, gave them the confidence to attend school without worrying about not have something as simple as a pencil. Seeing my students light up when I share with them the supplies you donated was one of the happiest days for me thus far.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barnes

  • Tablets For Tots

    Funded Dec 6, 2022

My students are so happy and so engaged. this year my school's focus is literacy and because my students are on the spectrum, traditional literature is not always ideal. introducing my students to these tablets has completely changed their lives, seeing their eyes light up when we have our reading hour, makes me so proud. they are able to sit and listen to a story, or use the touch screen to maneuver through a literacy activity. you all have improved their lives, and I am very grateful. Thank You all, my students thank you, and my school thanks you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barnes

  • Supplies For OuClassroom

    Funded Sep 3, 2022

I want to thank you for your kindness and giving spirits. my students were so excited when I shared the unboxing of our supplies with them. they were very excited when I shared that so many people wanted our classroom to be new school year ready. I was able to utilize the printer paper to create classroom activities, and I was able to develop and create educational homework packets so that I could help my students continue their learning at home. Lastly, we used our liquid soap to learn the right way to wash their hands, they were very excited to model how to keep germs away. Words cannot truly explain how grateful we are to have started our year off with all of your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barnes

  • HelpingTania Teach

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

I want to truly thank you all for donating to my classroom, the box masks were a big hit amongst my students they were excited to have such colorful masks, they had the coolest mask on our floor. The books have been a very important addition to our library, I cannot get them to put the books down, they are not at a reading level in their development yet, but seeing them explore the pictures and the parts of the books have been very rewarding, having books that reflect their culture and ethnicity is something that I can not thank you all enough for. My students can finally find their shade in our marker bin, and now can't wait for our art time, they are able to use their new markers to create self-portraits and to tell stories about their families. Thank you all, for your donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barnes

My K-2 NYC district 75 class fell into my lap unexpectedly this school year, though I am excited to have been given this wonderful class my first year of teaching, I am unfortunately starting from scratch with very limited supplies. I would like to add culturally responsive books to my library that reflect my student's cultural identity; my students are very young so to keep them engaged and on task, I often use board games and art-driven assignments to instruct them. I also use the teacher pay teacher site to get access to materials from like-minded and talented educators who often help me to teach at my best and give my students age and developmentally appropriate teaching materials. Working with students who are from a low socioeconomic background who has also been diagnosed with autism can be challenging but with your help, I can offer my students a happy, safe, well-founded, and welcoming classroom. Filled with books, games, art supplies, and face masks for their safety. Donating to my class will help me to provide free access to books that will help promote literacy and also help motivate and keep them engaged and offer my students an opportunity to see themselves and their culture on the pages of their library books. The other materials will also help provide my students with a more equitable learning environment, your donation will help keep my students safe and enhance their learning capabilities.
