  • A More Creative Learning Environment

    Funded Dec 9, 2023

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous contributions to our project. Your support has made a significant impact on our classroom, and I am truly grateful for your kindness.

Thanks to your donations, our students now have access to a comfortable learning environment where they can feel inspired to use their creativity. The new books, art supplies enriched their learning experience. The excitement and enthusiasm I see in their eyes as they engage with these new resources is truly heartwarming. In addition, the table and chairs provided for flexible seating has become a sot after spot.

Your generosity has not only provided us with much-needed supplies but has also inspired our students to dream bigger and work harder. They now know that there are people out there who believe in their potential and are willing to invest in their future.

Thank you once again for your incredible support. Your contributions have made a lasting difference in our classroom and in the lives of our students. We are deeply appreciative and will strive to make the most of the opportunities you've given us.

    With heartfelt thanks,”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bozzano

  • Safe and Comfortable Learning Environment

    Funded Oct 25, 2021

Thank you so much for all the supplies you were able to provide for my classroom! As mentioned in my letter at the beginning of the year, the main goal of my materials is to help my students feel more comfortable with learning in the classroom and get them back to making academic progress. I feel the materials that were provided have helped to make my year successful for both my students and myself in many ways.

The academic donations were imperative to help get my students back on track. I teach Reading and English to students with Severe Learning Disabilities, many of whom are also English Language Learners. Their reading progress was severely impacted by the year that our school district was in distance learning. Through the fluency, main idea, and other reading comprehension materials that I was able to purchase, many of my students have seen growth in their overall reading fluency scores. As a class, my students have increased their word reading fluency by 10 wpm and their passage reading fluency by 6 wpm. The best part is that we are only just beginning with using these materials consistently in our classroom.

In addition to the academic materials, I was able to provide my students with organizational items to help start-up our coffee cafe. The students love making coffee and providing it to our teachers. This cafe has been a blessing to students and teachers within our school.

Finally, the flexible seating has been a huge hit with students. They love having a little bit of "home" with them in the classroom by being able to sit and learn the way they feel most comfortable. Students repeatedly ask to use the balance ball when they are doing their independent work and I love seeing how much more focused they are when completing their assignments.

As you can see, the materials that were provided have been a tremendous success in my classroom. This year has been a challenge, but the generous donors to my project have made my job so much easier. More importantly, it has made a positive impact on my students' academic and mental health! We are excited to continue using these materials and watching the impact they have on each student in my classroom and for many years ahead.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bozzano

The resources I have asked for will help students to have more opportunities for differentiated instruction specific to the area of English Language Arts. The students I teach are at a reading level significantly below grade level and several are English Language Learners in addition to having a disability. The standard high school curriculum is difficult for them to understand. The materials I have selected will help meet each student where they are and help them to improve in important areas such as RI.9-10.2 (determining the central idea of a text) and RI.9-10.6 (determining the author's point of view). In addition, these materials will allow students flexible seating during times of independent reading and assignments. During COVID-19 students were in the comfort of their own homes and had many options for seating and doing their work. Creating a similar environment in the classroom would be a great benefit to my students. The items will also be neatly organized, which will also help them to feel more comfortable and welcome in my classroom.
