These learning resources, activities, and supplies will provide my students with the much needed variety and tools they need to achieve success in school. Students with autism have a difficult time focusing on a single task for an extended amount of time. It is important for them to have access to a wide-variety of engaging activities that are very durable. The nap mats will create a purposeful place and routine for my students to begin to understand how to take a rest. My amazing students are always on the go and when it comes time to take a break, they often have a difficult time settling down. In addition, all the little toys and games are used to reinforce students when they make good choices and follow directions. The standard incentives used in General Education classrooms do not interest or motivate children with autism. When we have lots of activities and ways to tell them, "Good job!" with a special toy or game, the students are able to recognize that they are making good choices.
