I am requesting chart paper, markers, and copy paper to help my students in all academic areas. I am going to have my own classroom in the beginning of November. It is a little hard to start my year after the students have already had a teacher. But, I am definitely ready for the challenge.
I went into the classroom and discovered that there were no supplies for me to use to provide appropriate and effective instruction to my new class. I thought long and hard to decide what were the most essential supplies that I would need to begin with my new students.
I definitely need a supply of chart paper and markers so that I can provide anchor charts and a print rich environment that my students could use not only during the initial lesson but as a future reference. I would provide students step by step instructions for solving addition and subtraction word problems, lists of high frequency words, proper writing steps, and so many other things.
In order for me to provide practice opportunities, I will definitely need copy paper so I can print out materials for the students to use. Homework sheets, spelling lists, and writing paper are some of the things that I can make with a supply of copy paper.
I was very surprised to learn that my school just does not have the money needed to provide learning materials to teachers. But, I am hopeful that I can provide these essential supplies through the generosity of DonorsChoose donors.
