My project for my class is about creating a learning environment that they are engaged in and able to work together. The items from Staples are for use in making and preserving learning materials that I make for my students, these are items such as sight word and math facts flashcards. The magnetic easel, alphamagnets, magnetic money, magnetic numbers, and the magnetic ten-frames are for use in small groups and intervention. The answer paddles are for students to use in answering questions such as math activities in whole group, for quick checks or formative assessments. The pocket chart is to make a bathroom tracking chart for the students. The wooden dominoes and magnetic dominoes are to be used in math so the students can do at their desk what I am doing on the board. The dominoes, splash, and pop-it games are for reinforcing the skills of the games and social skills. Many students are still working on CVC words and the CVC word building skills are for center time. The wild animal counters, color cubes, measuring worms, and the student balance are to support math learning. To support learning in science I have requested the butterfly and ladybug habitats, so that students can learn life cycles of the animals. My students are curious second graders and love to explore the world around them. With the funding of the items and materials I will be able to create learning materials that will support the students in the classroom and at home. We will be able to strengthen the foundation of their learning for a brighter future. Standards 2.NBT.B Use place value understanding and properties of operations to add and subtract. RF.2.(3) Phonics and Word Recognition RF.2.(4) Fluency 2-LS4-1Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life
