We gather together every morning for our morning meeting time. At this time the students hear the schedule for the day, we greet every student in the class, we discuss the weather, calendar, and answer a question of the day. Classrooms should look cozy and inviting. The rug is used during our math and ELA center times. During this time, students gather on the rug to collaborate for math games. Having a rug this size, will allow my students to stay 6 feet apart during this pandemic. When students are asked to sit on the rug, I often feel bad because it is so uncomfortable looking. Currently, we have a very small space, with limited seating. Some students are asked to sit on the hard floor because of this. Having a new rug with individual spaces for the students will make them feel more connected to the classroom.
