The materials I have requested will help my students prosper in a Covid-related learning environment. Current policies suggest that students have access to their own materials for personal use throughout the day, relying less on the shared materials model of years past. This project will allow my students to have access to individual supplies throughout the day. Students will have headphones to use with their computers. Clipboards and whiteboards will be used throughout the day during lessons and independent work time (not all kids have them now). We also need new erasers for our whiteboards. Students need to feel safe and comfortable in the classroom. Many students forget or lose a mask over the course of the week, so having child-sized masks on hand will prevent loss of learning time while students go to the office to get a new mask. Books for our classroom collection will help students feel included, and help with literacy skills (L.4.5). There is a need to increase the number of popular indoor game choices in our classroom. As the winter months approach, there is an increased chance of indoor recess time, and having extra games available for students will be helpful. Finally, two wobble chairs will be a fun addition to the classroom and will be used as a reward for students to earn each day!
