The materials selected are chosen with the expresss intention of introducing printmaking into the high school curriculum. Currently we are without a printing press and make do with other techniques but I would love the students to be able to experience the process and aesthetic achieved when using a press. A sufficient press and related materials would help me achieve this higher level instruction about the medium.
These materials would help us achieve the printmaking standards listed in the Printmaking 1-7715 document, revised version 2008, May 2018 (CPD-VAR-SG-7115). Some of the standands but not all that will be achieved are as follows:
Printmaking Course Goals:
1. To demonstrate and/or document problem-solving and critical thinking skills in solving visual problems usinf the elements of art and the principles of design.

2. To use printmaking vocabulary in conjunction with a variety of techniques, skills, media, and processesses in order to visually communicate meaning.

3. To develope innovative ideas for creating and refining art, both individually and collaborativwely, to meet and identified standard. [NS: VA:Cr2.HS.1I, VA:Cr3.HS.1I]
5. To understand and apply positive studio behavior including responsibility, organization, self-motivation, following directions, and an awareness od ethics of appropriation. [NS: VA:Cr2.HS.2I, VA: Cr3. HS.2II]
7. To analyze the prupose of artwork and printmaking, recognizing its lasting human importance and how it impacts understanding of broad concepts that extend beyond time, place and cultures. [NS: VA:Pr6.HS.1I, VA:Re7.HS.1I, VA:Re7.HS.2I]
9. To identify and discuss how history and culture have influenced and been influenced by printmaking and artists throughout time, and to copare and contrast current cultures and trends qwith historical examples. [NS: VA:Cn11.HS.1I]
Lastly, two other materials were added to my request, sketchbooks and multi-cultural skintoned paint. Our studio currently lacks these additional supplies.
