Although I am not a teacher, I help support learning and overall well-being as a school social worker. I will use these items to help support my families who are struggling to purchase basic needs items, such as winter clothing. These items will help alleviate stress at home and help promote consistent attendance with our students, which will lead to academic growth. Many of the items in my wish list help to promote mental wellness, such as the kinetic sand. Children often do not have the emotional vocabulary to express themselves appropriately. Kinetic Sand allows students to focus their attention on play and touch while they process emotions through conversation. Each item that I have chosen has a specific purpose to promote student health and wellness.
