The donations for my project will afford students in a impoverished state the opportunity to learn about budgeting, wealthy mindset, financial literacy through hands on experience, real-world examples, class discussions and project based learning. This is an opportunity to move away from the usual lecture type of instruction and truly engaged students in their own learning. Students will receive books to accompany select chapter reviews with a financial consultant. Additionally, students will lead online discussions based on the readings. Other lessons outlined in the project will focus on basic banking knowledge, credit, and budgeting. This will help students to be a master of their fate, recognize situations that will keep them in poverty or elevate them to a better way of life.
