The materials, I'm requesting for my fifth grade accelerated students will make STEM engineering and design lessons engaging, authentic and standards aligned. These students need tools for solving engineering problems in ways that reinforce skills to prepare them for future studies and technology related careers. LEGO BricQ Motion Essential sets will provide at risk students in an accelerated program with standards aligned learning opportunities in STEM that support inquiry-based active learning in the exploration of physical science while integrating other academic subjects and promoting 21st-century skills like critical thinking and collaboration. This project will facilitate teaching and learning the following content standards: RI.5.1; RI.5.3: RI.5.4 W.5.2; W.5.7; W.54.8; W.5.9 SL.5.1 a-d; SL.5.4 MP.2; MP.5; 3.MD.A.2; 4.OA.A3 CCC-4 5.ETS1.A, SEP 1-8 5-ESS2-1; 5-PS1-1; 5-PS1-3 Please help accelerated fifth graders at a disadvantaged school take an idea and make it come to life through exploration of structure and physics. Using these hands on resources creates unique solutions to complex structural and mechanical problems of physics in motion.
