My project will benefit multiple learning opportunities and advanced learning lessons. I have included many standards the materials would support; however, it is not limited to just those standards. Students will be able to use these materials with their peers to think creatively, identify problems and design solutions. My students will be studying the engineering design process to nurture their abilities to create innovative solutions to challenges and the design thinking process which is a solution-based approach to solving problems. Being able to work cooperatively with their peers on these tasks give them invaluable life skills they will need in the future. The Ozobots would be used in cooperative group lessons to engage students in critical thinking skills, computer coding, problem solving, and teamwork with their peers. The logic puzzles would create independent advanced learning opportunities and build students creative and higher-level thinking skills. The building kits would provide students with inspiration to build and problem solve either individually or with their peers. The possibilities are endless as these building blocks can be used as manipulatives for any subject matter. The art supplies would provide students with the materials to design and build their ideas. The academic standards taught using the materials requested in my grant will provide my students with knowledge and understanding in engineering, computer science, math, critical thinking skills, and social emotional skills. Standards: 4.OA C.5 Generate and analyze patterns. P1.1-3 Fostering an Inclusive Computing Culture P2.1-4 Collaborating Around Computing P3.1-3 Recognizing and Defining Computational Problems 3-5-ETS-1,2,3 Engineering Design
