Molecular biology is tough. Hands on activities challenge students to synthesize the material we learn in class and allow them to visualize 3D structures that are hard to conceive off the page of a textbook. Tactile tools really help students grasp some hard science concepts. With large class sizes, it is hard to get around to each and every student so having more models allows more students to stay engaged for a longer period of time. We are lucky in that students are back in school and learning in person which means more tools for them are needed in every class.
