We have an independent reading initiative at the school where I teach. Many students can't afford to buy their own books, so it's up to the teachers to create a classroom reading library. These books would go a long way to boost the reading library in my classroom helping to make reading accessible to every student. Getting students to enjoy reading by finding high interest books that are relatable is key. Many students admit that they don't read outside the classroom. I give them the chance to read more often.
