Students will participate in fitness activities in their Functional Fitness and Physical Conditioning with Weights classes as well as our afterschool CrossFit club. The speaker will provide audible start and stop signals that all students will be able to hear throughout class, telling them when to work, when to rest, when they should be lifting, as well as various intervals, by utilizing a timer app connected through Bluetooth. The speaker will also provide motivation for the students through the use of music. The students learn proper movement patterns not only for the classes, but what they learn they can continue to utilize for the rest of their lives. Students will track their performance on repeated benchmark workouts as well as max lifts and analyze their progress throughout the year. PE 3.12.2 Apply lifelong activity patterns through participation in physical activity PE 4.12.1 Use personal fitness data to develop an exercise and physical activity plan to improve fitness. PE 4.12.2 Analyze health and fitness benefits derived from participation in various physical activities.
