Anyone who knows the basic curriculum for high schoolers, knows that it can be a bit boring at times. I want to change that in my class. My students will read these stories together as a class and give presentations on different topics throughout the book. They greatly enjoy group reading and I want to capitalize off of that and have real, thought-provoking conversations while teaching them about language.
These topics connect directly to many of their lives and will allow them to learn syntax, metaphorical language, and real-life communication more easily. These books will be kept for at least two years for other kids to use and then will be given out for new books to come in.
