  • Wobble Learning

    Funded Aug 4, 2022

I asked for 3 extra wobble stools to complete a small group set at my kidney bean table. This has been SO beneficial to my small group math and reading time. My students are able to let out some of their energy- wiggles and movement as we are learning. My students are always so excited to use the wobble stools at my table. They are a great motivator!

Flexible seating is so important to me. Because I teach kindergarten, these students have a LOT of energy and needs. Flexible seating is just one way to help meet the needs of my students. I'm always looking for ways to improve the environment in my classroom, so I will be looking for more flexible seating and sensory tools!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Simcox

  • Flexible Seating Options

    Funded Oct 29, 2021

Since receiving the flexible seating in my classroom, my students have benefited from this project immensely. Because of these flexible seating options, my students are able to learn in a way that is most comfortable to them. We are able to celebrate everyone's unique and individual needs!

The students were SO excited when we first received the seating options. We took time to talk about each one, and how to use them safely and correctly. Every student has gotten to try every flexible seating option!

Moving forward, I'd love to start future projects to meet my students needs in other ways. I'd love for each student to have a flexible seating option in the future!

Thank you again so much for your support, and for believing in myself and my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Simcox

From my college courses, I've learned that sometimes students learn best with different accommodations. Some of my students learn best when they are holding a fidget toy (like a pop it or squishy toy) and some of my other students benefit from visual timers. I've been experimenting with flexible seating options, too, and I feel as though my entire classroom could benefit from these options. Having flexible seating options will allow me to meet every students individual learning needs. Having different options such as wobble cushions, wobble stools, and comfy floor chairs will allow me to find something that works for my students. These will be used as tools during instruction in my classroom.
