When our school went to learning online in April 2019, many students had library books that were lost or damaged after being shuffled around during hybrid learning. Nevada Elementary Library Standard 1 is students will build new knowledge by inquiring, thinking critically, identifying problems, and developing strategies for solving problems. Children's literature is a great tool that we can put in our students' hands, instead of turning on the computer and letting google do all the work. Purchasing new biographies and new multicultural books, I hope will remind students have much that can learn on their own when they are reading books on their own.
