  • Bringing History Alive

    Teaching, although a noble profession, has become difficult these last few years. Most children lack imagination and are easily distracted. As an educator for more than fifteen years, I know that getting students to fall in love with history can be challenging. With your donation, I was able to purchase hands-on and exciting activities for my students. Each activity was tailored to the grade-level of my students. We learned the importance of Civics; we learned the significance of the Reconstruction Era; we learned academic vocabulary in which I created foldables in order to practice this skill; but most of all- the kids had fun. Lessons became fun and students genuinely wanted to learn. So again, I think you times a million!”

  • Bringing History Alive

    As a teacher of students with many different learning styles, I often struggle coming up with fun activities for my students. Your donation of Teachers Pay Teachers gift card has allowed me to implement fun and meaningful assessments for my students. We have learned in a fun way! We are truly grateful. My students have LOVED the games we have played, the biography projects and the writing activities.

    Furthermore, many of the readings from Teachers Pay Teachers have allowed me to extend the lesson with a hands on activity created from the readings. Lastly, I have been able to decorate my classroom bulletin board with various items downloaded from the website (writing and reading strategies, annotation guides, close-reading strategies). Again, we thank you. You have allowed me to become a better teacher.”

  • Books Are a Window to the Soul of Our Classroom

    Your book donation means the world to us! I specifically chose books that would make an impact on my students. Most of my students and their families originate from Latin America. The titles "Havana," "Bogota", and "Oaxaca" made my students' faces light up! It made them think of home.

    When I showed my students the books that were given to us by our amazing donors, they were truly grateful (& excited)! They immediately wanted to start reading. Not to mention, our classroom library looks great! I cannot wait to utilize them further throughout our immigration unit.
