The use of art supplies in the classroom is a weekly activity that my students enjoy. Especially connecting the content of what they are learning into something they can create. Our Nevada Map Project (SS 4.23, SS 4.24) covers standards in History and Geography while studying Nevada. In our classroom we create a 4 quadrant map of the State of Nevada which identifies surrounding states, counties, cities, and landforms. The markers and poster board will come in handy for this project. In Science, we study multiple standards throughout the year which we complete activities about Brain Processing (4-LSI-1, 4-LSI-2), Energy Transfer (4-PS3-2, 4-PS3-40, and Weathering and Erosion (4-ESS2-1), just to name a few, that require the students to diagram and draw. The markers, paper, and poster boards will assist students in completing this task and increase their learning! By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with hands on activties is always a fun challenge as well as increase their desire to learn!
