  • Chromebook Charger - Data Science Course

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you for helping my students charge their Chromebooks for class. Students have been able to access the curriculum needed through their devices. In the years past, students have come to class without their devices charged and they would not be able to do much in class. They would tell me that they would do the work when they would get home, but then they would forget.

As much as I would hope that students would come to class with their Chromebooks charger, they just are not able to remember to charge their devices.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lumpkin

  • New School Year Supplies

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you very much for donating to my students with markers, spiral notebooks and writing utensils. Because of you, my students are able to focus on learning, rather than worrying about the supplies they need.

My students have been able to use their spiral notebooks for reviewing previous day's learning through essential questions. Students use the glue and highlighters to add to their notes and learning.

Once students have used the supplies from you, the are also able to look over their notes and learning to study for their test and to review what they have learned.

    Thank you so much.”

  • Necessary Supplies for Learning

    Funded Nov 13, 2022

Thank you for supporting my students and myself in the journey of learning math. Times have been difficult for many families and students have not been able to have all the necessary tools to be successful in the classroom. With your donation to my students, they have been given the basic tools needs to learn, grow and become thinkers. My goal for students is to problem-solve, not just memorize math. With your help, students are able to participate in activities designed for thinking and sharing with each other.

    I appreciate the support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lumpkin

  • Teaching Materials for All Students

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for the support and providing the resources for my students to be successful. Having a new whiteboard has been incredible for students to share their thinking of math. The expo markers for students has been helpful for group talk and classroom sharing of their thinking. I also had basic scissors donated to help my students add notes to their note-taking system.

My students are doing better than ever thanks to your support. I appreciate all the time and effort you went to help my students and myself.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lumpkin

  • Math Confidence

    Funded Nov 9, 2021

I would like to thank you for your generous gift to my classroom this year. Without the gift, my students would not be doing as well as they are now. Students come to classes these days without the necessary supplies and these students are not able to excel to their fullest. With the purchase of class set of calculators, scissors and notebooks, my students have been able to learn at a much greater depth than before.

As my students work on their math skills, having a calculator other than their phones has given my students the confidence to learn more than without the calculators. By having the calculators, my students have been able to find solutions to math equations that they were unable to do on a phone calculator.

One of the obstacles that I did face once I got the calculators was teaching the students to use the calculators. They were used to their phone calculators which are no more than a 10-key calculator. With the new calculators the students have been able to see how order of operations in math works and not just on paper. When they get an incorrect solution on their calculator, they are able to see what they have typed into the calculator, unlike their phones.

I am very grateful for your generosity to help my students. Words can't express this.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lumpkin

Students need 3 years of math to graduate high school and most of my students have not been successful in math for many years. Two sections of my class are sophomore who failed pre-algebra last year and now have Algebra 1. Their number sense and ability to problem-solve are minimal but we are making progress. With the aid of a calculator, students will be able to have the confidence and mindset to do well on math concepts. As of now, I only have $1 calculators for my students and the operations to calculate are very difficult for my students. With a scientific calculator, my students will be able to gain number sense and learn new concepts. At my previous school district, I had a classroom set of calculators and my students were able to gain confidence, problem-solve, make mistake and learn from them because they had a tool to help them.
