  • Table Time Fun

    Funded Dec 30, 2024

We are so happy with our donations. Our octagon table is so comfortable. The fact that we can write on it with dry erase markers makes the table even more interactive. We are enjoying practicing our math facts and sight words most of all.

The games have really started us talking. We are practicing how to follow rules, take turns and fair play. Academically we are improving our word skills and processing. We are having a lot of fun playing the games on our new tables.

It is amazing how a new piece of furniture can make a dramatic difference in a classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Melendez

  • Teachers PAY Teachers

    Funded Aug 25, 2024

You have no idea how grateful I am for this donation. Sometimes our resources are limited. This opens the ability to access so many classroom resources. As a teacher it is difficult to try to fill in the gap for my special education students. I can taylor lessons that are more appropriate for them. There are also so many fun activities available on Teachers Pay Teachers. The kids enjoy completing these activities.

Teachers Pay Teachers has open a lot of doors for us. We are thankful for this gift-card.”

  • Important Supplies for Important Learning

    Funded Aug 25, 2024

Thank you so much for helping us get our new school year to a good start. It is expensive being a school teacher but generous donations help a lot. We often need supplies beyond notebooks and pencils. This donation helps us to get those little extra things that make the school year better.

The students are really enjoying the the the supplies. I assign students to do inventory as an activity. They enjoy opening the boxes and love to make suggestions about new things we need. My kids really appreciate it.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Melendez

  • Save Us a Seat!

    Funded Jun 26, 2024

New chairs have made such a difference in our small room. They are the perfect size to fit under our table. The kids are more comfortable now that they are sitting in a chair appropriate for their height. The students are always excited to get new things even if it is school materials. It feels like Christmas!

People who do not teach often underestimate the power of comfortable classroom furniture. The students focus better and take pride in their classroom environment. My older students no longer feel like pre-schoolers simply because they have seats that work.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Melendez

  • Positive Space = Positive Minds

    Funded Dec 28, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations to our room. There is more to teaching than just academics. In today's word it is so hard to keep students motivated and engaged. It is because of donors like you that teachers are able to support our students.

These donations have created such a buzz in the classroom. The kiddos are excited to punch their cards and earn incentives. The bean bag chair has encouraged reading and socialization. We can't wait to begin to use the projector. It is so cool as a teacher to see the kids so excited.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Melendez

The students are really enjoying the the phonics books. There is always a wait for who will get to read it next. I able to provide students with a snack that are not able to bring any during our designated snack times. My kids really appreciate it.”

  • Storage or Bust!

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Being a NYC public school teacher, is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding careers. I want so much to create an environment that is comfortable and fun for the kids to learn. Although the kiddos are great, working in an old building comes with its drawbacks. Rooms can be dank and small with little or no space for storage. The materials I received has helped to create an environment that is more conducive to learning. The students have more room to move and read. Our supplies are organized and easy to to get to.

The students love the room! It has fostered a sense of ownership to where the students actively want the room to remain orderly. The incentives have also been a big hit. It has helped with encouragement and behavior.

My next steps will be toward on seating and learning tables. I believe things will add to what we have started. We love our new storage and incentives.”

  • Learning Should Be Fun!

    Funded Dec 29, 2022

What a great addition these resources have been to our class. Students love playing the word games, especially the sight word fishing game. It has helped to create a learning environment that is fun. Students use the games to reinforce literacy skills. They help to build confidence by taking away the high stakes associated with testing. S

Student's with special needs, need to have opportunities for learning that are fun and creative. We are thankful for the donations and will continue to make learning games a part of our group routines.”

  • Special Needs Spark Special Talents

    Funded Dec 29, 2022

My students have had such a positive experience using some of the materials donated. The Cricut have served my students well. It has really sparked there creativity.

In the beginning, we had some difficulty learning how to use the program. Now the students can create on their own. They are most happy when they can show me something new that they have discovered. We have planned several future projects and are looking forward to creating.

It has been a real growing experience not only for my students but also for my practice.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Melendez

I want to create a more hands on environment where students can be active participants in their learning. A previously stated, I am working with a special needs population and would like to use the toys as focusing tools as well as incentives for learning.
