These materials will be used throughout a three week long lesson, introducing Holidays around the world. Our community is a very diverse group; however, many of our students are unfamiliar with anything beyond the boundaries of their homes. I would like to use craft projects to help enhance my lesson in order to engage my students mentally, emotionally and physically. I believe that these crafts will help my students familiarize themselves with how other cultures celebrate, relate to their peers, embrace a world they perhaps knew nothing about and have the ability to share their learned experiences with others. This lesson is particularly important to me as it helps me emphasize that no matter our physical traits, financial or academic status; we are are all similar in so many ways. Every year, I spend a considerable, out of pocket amount to give my students a memorable educational experience as well provide keepsakes to gift and hold on to. With this year being a little tough for me, I was hoping for a bit of help so that my students would not have to miss out.
