  • A Little Spot of Social Emotional Learning

    Funded Nov 11, 2023

I sincerely appreciate the donations for my classroom! We have already utilized them in so many ways!

The Social Emotional Learning (A Little Spot books) have helped tremendously with teaching my students various crucial character traits. I share them during morning meetings while introducing a new character skill, and we refer back to the story throughout the week. Students love how relatable these stories are!

The book binding machine is going to come to great use for our upcoming "Women in History Unit," where students conduct survey and compile it into a story project.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Conley

  • Supplies in Need to Help a Teacher, Indeed!

    Funded Oct 17, 2021

My students are really enjoying all of the resources you helped fund for our classroom! They were over the moon with excitement to see the items we received when our project was funded!

I would say that their favorite is our new class rug. They love gathering together to listen to a read aloud, or play math games. Their book buckets are study and have lasted well to help keep their books from our classroom library organized. We have been able to enjoy TIME for Kids magazines to keep up with news from around the world at a grade appropriate level, which leads to meaningful conversations.

Thank you so much for all of your contributions! You have truly made a difference in our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Conley

The book bins that I have asked for will be used to promote reading in the classroom, as students will fill their bins with books from our classroom library. With distance learning last year, many of my students have not held a book in their hands since the last time they were in a classroom. The TIME Magazine articles will be used to integrate multiple reading and social studies standards, as well as focus on informational text--which many students have minimal experience with. The rug will be used to create a welcoming classroom environment, helping with social-emotional learning. Students will be able to gather together in a designated area.
