After a year and a half of pandemic learning at home, students have fallen behind on basic academic concepts. These materials will give students the opportunity to build their foundational skills in math and reading through hands-on learning. Items such as the Touch Read Phonics Word Match helps students to segment and blend sounds together by being able to touch each sound on the word mat and track words as they blend. The ten-frames card decks also provide a tactile experience that will help students visualize groups of ten while being able to touch count for one-to-one correspondence. RF1.1- Demonstrate understanding of the organization and basic features of print. RF1.2- Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). RF1.3- Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. RF1.4- Read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension. 1.OA.A.1- Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions.
