Goal: restock items students regularly use in Environmental Science, Biology, and Reading classes. Most of the items were self-funded over time and perished in Hurricane IDA. These materials will enable students who lost their supplies and have no surplus funds to still participate in class activities successfully. Engaging activities such as gallery walks, trading card creation, group projects and displays will increase student engagement which highly impact student learning. The more they learn, the more aware they will be of how the content of my classes applies to their life. This is a very important part of them learning and engagement is the only way to achieve this. Doing these critical thinking activities will aid in creating life-long learners who in turn will become contributing citizens in the community. Whether they are being critiqued or the critic, making environmental decisions, or just able to read a manual at work, they will learn some real world skills as they travel out into the world.
