The materials requested in this project to develop an obstacle course will challenge students balance, coordination, and improve gross motor skills which have all been neglected during Covid. When children challenge themselves on an obstacle course, they develop strength and increase balance. Indoor obstacles courses are a great workout that enhances a child's balance at a young age. This all transfers into other sports students play outside school hours. Students learn how to problem solve to complete the obstacle course. They learn how to maneuver their bodies to go over, under, and through different obstacles to complete the course. Standards: 1.5.3 Perform simple and moderate motor skills and movement patterns. 2.5.1 Recognize critical elements of movement skills. 2.5.2 Explain strategies within physical activities.
