ELA- RF 2.3.A ELA-Literacy-RF.4. A Math Content 2. OA C MathContent.2.OA.C.4 All students serviced are on Individualized Education Plans with specific goals and objectives including English Language Arts, Mathematics and social emotional skills. Materials requested would provide opportunities for practice and repetition of the afore mentioned essential skills in either a small group or individual practice setting. For example, a student in Kinder may have the following goals: READING: - decode a list of 20 leveled sight words -use previously learned phonetical strategies and/or picture cues to determine pronunciation of CVC words WRITING: - demonstrate comprehension by drawing in response to a story MATH: -represent #'s within 20 (manipulatives) -add/subtract within 10 (manipulatives) - read/write numbers to 20 SOCIAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS: - ask to take a break in a previously specified area (e.g resource room) when feeling frustrated or upset -work/play cooperatively with peers Materials requested would assist with the acquisition of these goals by providing practice materials appropriate for small group or individual. In addition, I have requested 2 portable "break areas" that would travel with me to use as needed. A number of students serviced have significant social and emotional concerns. Being that I do not have specified teaching areas in the schools that I service, I attempt to provide a learning environment that the students look forward to participating in. Comfortable "Break areas" are essential for students with social and emotional needs. Providing students with areas in which they are comfortable to learn is essential for educational growth. Uncertainties caused by COVID have negatively impacted many students including those with special needs. These students have been particularly hard hit as struggles within regular education classrooms that they that experienced previously have been exacerbated by COVID.
