  • A Laptop to Learn!

    Funded May 11, 2023

I truly appreciate your support of my "A Laptop to Learn!" project request! This extra mobile device came in just in time for the first round of F.A.S.T. testing and my students were able to complete these tests in only two days as we had more laptops in our classroom. Now, the laptop is used for online projects, assignments, practice and catching up with home assignments that were not completed fully at home. Because I serve a special-needs population, having extra resources such as this laptop, helps my students succeed when it comes to technology-based learning.”

  • Adjustable Desk and Chair Needed!

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting my "Adjustable Desk and Chair Needed!" project request. Now that I have furniture for my classroom that is adjustable for my special-needs students, the classroom setting is going to be accommodative to their needs. No longer would I have to stack books to allow access to the desk or borrow shorter chairs from the lower school in order to make a student feel comfortable. Hopefully, adjustable furniture will be included in all special-needs classrooms in our school. Thank you for caring.”

I already own a laminator that I bought out of pocket, but the cost of the thermal sheets has increased since last school year. I am requesting five packages of laminating sheets and three boxes of velcro fasteners for our classroom. Having the laminating sheets my class uses will help prevent the spread of germs within the classroom. It has been my experience that if I do not laminate an item that will be handled often by students, that item would not last very long. Anything handled by students at this time should be cleaned after each use. Apart from learning aids, I laminate reusable rubrics, self-editing tools, charts and procedures, instructions for an activity, hall passes, and bathroom passes. My students use these items daily to guide their learning and practice. If I can laminate these items, I will be able to wipe them down with antibacterial wipes after each use. This will make our classroom cleaner and safer. The laminating thermal sheets will allow the class materials, hall passes, class job charts, and other items to last longer which will also save on paper and printing costs.
