I am requesting a color changing light table, a sand water table and translucent linking cubes. By getting my students these items such as the water and light tables they will be able to not only academically succeed but also socially and mentally. A lot of my students have sensory processing disorders and we use different sensory output items in the class such as touch (sand or play doh) and sight (light and dark). Sensory toys improve cognitive growth and encourage children to develop motor skills to carry out day to day tasks. Students will use these sensory items to help them calm down and relax as well as to help them develop social learning skills like sharing and cooperative play. There are so many uses for these items that can truly benefit my students!
