These materials will help my students excel with their fine motor skills, play skills, and have more engaging materials to work on their IEP goals. We will be able to use these items to help student regulate their emotions and sensory needs (sensory items), learn more about creating diverse learning environments (books about diversity), provide them with age appropriate and updated materials for dramatic play and fine motor skill practice. These items will also help my students access more appropriate modified curriculum to reach their various needs. Teaching students with such varied needs is often difficult in terms of finding engaging materials, age appropriate objects, and modified curriculum. The reading and math activities, as well as the TPT card allow me to modify curriculum to meet my specific students' needs. My students often are still learning how to complete difficult tasks and are motivated by things like small treats and toys. We follow Applied Behavior Analysis procedures and work to fade these tangible rewards out as our students become more independent in their task completion, but they play an often very helpful role in teaching students basic appropriate school behavior. This project will help all of my students have access to more diverse books, which will in turn help educate our school about the importance and value of inclusion and diversity. I am excited to see my students use these materials and watch them play, build peer relationships, and access more activities. These materials will greatly enhance our special education classroom environment! Thank you so much!
