Students in a visual art class like mine heavily rely on accurate visual images to follow steps, critique historical artwork, and plan their creations. Currently, our district uses projectors and the picture quality is only good for text, the color is washed out and textures/details are not visible (see class photo). I will mount this tv where my projector currently is. Seeing historical artworks in high quality will engage students and is needed for them to appreciate museum quality work being that Las Vegas doesn't currently have an art museum. Seeing step by step instructions in high quality will help the students to comprehend the medium and the process which will increase success in creating. Additionally, this tv will also show instructional videos in high quality so that the students can fully understand the process. A visual arts class heavily relies on student engagement and enthusiasm for success and this high quality tv will help to facilitate this. VA:Cr1.HS.2I Shape an artistic investigation of an aspect of present day life using a contemporary practice of art or design. VA:Pr4.HS.1I Analyze, select, and curate artifacts and/or artworks for portfolio, presentation and preservation. VA:Cr3.HS.1I Apply relevant criteria from traditional and contemporary cultural contexts to examine, reflect on, and plan revisions for works of art and design in progress. VA:Pr6.HS.1I Analyze and describe the impact that an exhibition or collection has on personal awareness of social, cultural, or political beliefs and understandings. VA:Re7.HS.1I Hypothesize ways in which art influences perception and understanding of human experiences. VA:Re7.HS.2I Analyze how one’s understanding of the world is affected by experiencing visual imagery.
