Since returning to the building I am trying to engage my students as much as possible. My projects this year have been mostly 3D to make up for the lack of this last year. I am planning on using these supplies to build giant art supplies and food relating to a famous artist, Claus Oldenburg. I also have tied the clay coil pottery to the native Americans of the southwest and their pottery. The glazes will help give them a glass-like finish and definitely make their projects more professional and finished looking. These are projects they will keep for a lifetime. The kids have been loving the extra hands-on projects! The eon oil pastels and crayons will help keep my younger students engaged in their projects as they will "glow" under backlights and help them see their artwork in a "new light". These projects will meet these NV Visual Art Standards: VA:Cr2.5.1Experiment and develop skills in multiple art-making techniques and approaches through practice. VA:Cr2.5.5Demonstrate quality craftsmanship through care for and use of materials, tools, and equipment. VA:Cr2.3.1 Create personally satisfying artwork using a variety of artistic processes and materials.
