The students in my special education classroom need different items to grow in their education. In my classroom, the students learn more than academics. They learn life skills. All the things I am requesting will offer my students access to sensory needs, life skills, and meaningful access to skills that take specific items for them to use. My students have made significant gains since being back in person but still have struggles. I would love to make sure they have the materials and supplies to be successful in my room and their general education class. I am requesting sensory items for sensory output. My classroom has an area where students can go to receive sensory. Unfortunately, I do not have enough items for them to get that output. The sensory tiles and sensory table will give them different options for the sensory section of the classroom. It will also help add to their educational learning. Some of my students learn through hands-on activities, and sensory objects can help bring a different approach to their learning goals. The vacuum is another great addition to my classroom, as my students are also learning independent life skills. This will allow them to learn the skill of vacuuming and the other skills we work on. My students could benefit from flexible seating, as sitting in traditional seating is not always easy for them. Another item I am requesting is adaptive cuffs for my students who have physical weaknesses and can not hold utensils or writing tools without support. Same as the adaptive scissors. These tools are to give them an option to achieve things in their general education and my classroom activities. Thank you
