Creative Career Opportunities
Funded Dec 2, 2024I want to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation to my art classroom and your support of Hill City Kids. Your contribution has made an incredible impact, allowing us to provide the necessary supplies and materials for our students to explore their creativity. Thanks to your support, our classroom is now better equipped to inspire young minds and nurture their artistic talents. The children are excited to dive into new projects, and it’s heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and growth. Your kindness not only helps us create art but also fosters a love for learning and self-expression among our students. Art is such an essential part of education, helping children develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and confidence. Your donation ensures that every child in our class has the opportunity to experience the joy of creating something uniquely their own. We are incredibly fortunate to have supporters like you who believe in the power of art education. Thank you once again for your commitment to our students and for helping us make a positive difference in their lives. With heartfelt thanks, Jess Kautz Art Teacher, Hill City Kids”

Funded Feb 28, 2024Hill City students are so fortunate to live in a community that supports their education as well as the arts. Having equipment like this allows students to see real world applications for art and creativity. It keeps them engaged in the classroom and it makes them excited to learn new things. It takes a village and our village shows up for the kids.
Thank you.”

Funded May 9, 2023Our students have loved sharing our art skills and watching for our rocks to check back in. We created about 200 rocks and 10 have checked back so far. We have been tracking thier travels on a large map. One of our rocks is currently in Mexico!!
We have really enjoyed the emails and messages from facebook. We have learned a lot about different areas of the country.
We can't wait to see where they end up next.
We plan to paint more rocks in the spring for our local tourists to find. We love spreading the love of hill city and our school spirit

Funded Sep 6, 2023We are absolutely loving this drawing area in the classroom. We have two digital drawing boards that link to the kids computers as well as two traditional drawing areas. The lights really help create a secluded drawing area in a busy classroom.
The kids have been using it every day since we got the furniture put together. It is the perfect place to focus on drawing and get the kids engaged in new arts.
We love it. Thank you so much for helping us create this space. We couldn't have done it without you.”

Funded Nov 28, 2022Students were really excited to unwrap and try out the tables. They love that they can draw thier work ahead of time and transfer it. They were having to freehand the ink previously. My printmaking students are using the light tables to better see ink coverage and also prep thier plates for printing.
They are really enjoying them because they are able to see what thier project will look like before they print it. It has helped cut back on misprints.
They have made some really great large scale prints using the larger light tables.”

Im"Press"ive Unique Printmaking
Funded Feb 17, 2022Our new press has been such an amazing addition to our classroom. We have been able to use it this year for linoleum cut printing as well as etching and monotype printing. My students are very grateful that they are not having to print by hand. It has also allowed for my special education students to participate in printing.
We have started with black ink prints but we will be using the press to add color shortly.
It is really amazing what the kids have been able to produce. I can't wait to introduce the press to my elementary students.”
