Given the trauma students have experienced by being away from school for 18 months, the environment they walk into each day says volumes about the school we believe they deserve. Countless studies have shown the benefits of an indoor environment surrounded by plants on mental health, air quality, and natural sound absorption. Students caring for these plants, as they will, has also been shown to be especially helpful for students recovering from trauma, as well as students with ADHD. Seeing plants grow is good for all kids, but particularly the ones hardest hit by the pandemic.
