This year as I started teaching STEAM, I found that many of my Kindergartners did not know how Legos/Duplos snapped together. My first graders could snap them together, but lacked the creativeness to create a project as simple as a house. The kits that I would like to order through this grant would allow me to give the students more hands on experience with creative play, while teaching my STEAM content. "Children learn as they play, most importantly in play children learn how to learn," Fred Donaldson. Creative play is the most productive teaching resource we have in teaching the children to expand their minds beyond the opportunities they have or lack before entering school.
