English Language Arts in Color
Funded Nov 7, 2023Thank you so much for the supplies and most important, the EPSON Eco printer. My students and/or I use everything on a daily basis. As you can see from the photos, we use the color printer to print professional looking images of our infographics and posters to display on the door for the entire school to see and learn from. Additionally, I laminate some of the items that I put on the door so they last for years to come. Finally, the highlighters are used by students and myself almost every day while we are reading and annotating texts or pointing attention to information within our posters or displays.
I think the kids like most that they can see their work (or anything they print) in its original color and how it is intended to be conveyed. My Imaginative writing and college English 101 classes are especially drawn to the printer because they can use it independently to print out notes, articles, and scholastic journals that they then highlight as part of their reading process.
In closing, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your kindhearted donation. It has made a world of difference for myself and my students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Miller
Escape Ms. Miller's ELA Class
Funded Oct 17, 2021I cannot thank you enough for your donation of escape room supplies. The kids had a blast trying to find the clues and solve the riddles to open the locks/bags.
Throughout the day of my initial self-created (thanks to the how-to books) break-in experience, I had over 72 groups of 5+ students participate. I created a series of 5 puzzles that required students to recall figurative language and word parts (something we have been studying all year). The final clue was tied to Nevada Day (which was celebrated the next day).
The students really enjoyed the unique locking mechanisms (word combinations, directional padlocks) and the locking bags kept them out until they solved the puzzles. Every group was able to break in to their bag to retrieve the candy prize. 100% of students were actively participating and almost every student asked to play again!
My goal is to have 4 more break-in experiences for my class (totaling 2 per quarter). Once again, your donation is greatly appreciated!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Miller
