In order to engage my students I need to print colorful gameboards to play math games, and use a fun tablet to show how to solve math problems while keeping their attention. Our particular school has a very low proficiency rate in mathematics and I try to use whatever fun and engaging tools that I can with my students. I also need bright markers to show examples that will be dark enough to show up on my Smart Board when writing from the ELMO. The ELMO is fairly old and is not very bright or clear. On a daily basis we use whiteboards to work out our math problems and complete whiteboard review in mathematics. In addition, because of our low proficiency, I try to create anchor charts frequently on the big sticky pads to hang around the room for student reference. We often use chrome books and need headphones to hear prerecorded videos and directions or instruction given from the programs we work on without distracting table mates. Finally, we often have projects in math and science that we need to cut out materials for. Due to the fact that many of my students don't come to school with the supplies they need, it is necessary that I have enough scissors for every student in my class.
