  • A Shelf Is A House For A Book

    Funded Oct 25, 2024

Thank you for donating new books to our classroom. The students enjoyed opening the boxes, and they cheered when they saw the books!

I gave them some time to look at the goodies we received while I read them the title of each book. They wanted to read them immediately.

Next, we set up a system for signing out the books. Each student is responsible for the book they choose, and it must be returned in perfect condition. After completing the story they are asked to recommend the book to a student that might enjoy it. We are having so much fun in our classroom library.

My students love going to the reading center, because there's a book of interest for each child. They enjoy exploring the different characters and settings in the books we have, and now they are looking forward to meeting new characters in many amazing places. Reading has become loads of fun, because of generous people like you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kassab

Thank you for donating beautiful books to my classroom. The students helped me open the boxes, and they cheered when they saw the books.

After they had some time to look at the goodies we received, I read them the title, I am Enough - they can't wait to get their hands on it.

  • Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader!

    Funded Jan 17, 2023

Thank you for donating the Elephant and Piggie Series to our classroom library. This includes 25 books that my students can't wait to get their hands on. They helped me open the boxes, and they cheered, jumped up and down, and asked me to read one as soon as they saw them.

After they had some time to look at the goodies we received, I read them the title, My Friend is Sad. Finally, they picked their own title and off they went for some independent reading time. You could hear a pin drop!

  • Reading Is Fun!

    Funded Dec 17, 2022

Thank you for donating the series, Henry and Mudge to my classroom. The students helped me open the boxes, and they cheered when they saw the books.

After they had some time to look at the titles and flip through some of the books, I read them the first book in the series - THEY ARE HOOKED! We received enough books for everyone to have their own (and several extra).

Next, we set up a system for signing out the books. Each student is responsible for the book they choose, and it must be returned in perfect condition. After completing the story they are asked to recommend the book to a student that might enjoy it. We are having so much fun with this new series, and we've only had them for a week.

My students love going to the reading center because there is a book of interest for each child. They enjoy exploring the different characters and settings in the books we have, and now they can enjoy the adventures of Henry and Mudge. Learning has become loads of fun, because of generous people like you.”

  • Reading Is Everything!

    Funded May 12, 2022

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful donation to my classroom. My students have enjoyed the books as much as I have. They love going to the reading center because there is a book of interest for each of them. The students have enjoyed exploring the different characters and settings.

The snacks are motivating the students to sit, relax and enjoy. I think they would agree that it feels like one big happy family while we are together. We look forward to spending the day with one another and that's because the room is so inviting thanks to your donations.”

  • Cozy, Comfortable, Corner

    Funded Mar 18, 2022

It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give, toward "Cozy, Comfortable, Corner!"

This beautiful carpet is a game changer. I hope you were able to view the pictures of the students on it. We have been reading at our desks or on chairs in the reading area. That's NO fun at all. We needed this new bright carpet to get back to the way we used to read and relax in our classroom.

I wish you could have seen their faces when they walked into the room. They're eyes were huge and their smiles were even bigger. The atmosphere in the room has changed completely. It's happier, brighter and more welcoming.

Thank you for your kind and generous donations! We are very appreciative!!"”

  • Relax and Read with a Tasty Treat

    Funded Mar 18, 2022

It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give, toward "Relax and Read with a Tasty Treat!" I wish you could have seen their faces when they walked into the room. I opened the boxes and put everything on our new carpet. They entered the room and some froze, some jumped up and down, others looks stunned, one said, "is this for us?" We sat in a large circle and discussed how much more fun we are going to have while we read. Everyone loves to snack while they read.

My students love to read, and these delicious snacks makes it even more fun. Each student receives a bag full of goodies that they take to our new carpet while they read. They can relax and read in a clean cozy space, with some tasty treats.

When they have finished those snacks they can have a REFILL!!

Thank you for your kind and generous donations! We are very appreciative!!"”

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help getting everything through our classroom door! The white board materials and other supplies will be used by the students, so that they may create books. The organizational containers will be placed on the shelves in the back of our classroom. They will help the Writer's Workshop process run smoothly from day to day. When the students are ready to share their final draft we will enjoy the pretzels during our authors party.
