In our classroom, we have some older, damaged whiteboards. These whiteboards are difficult to write on, hard to erase from, and make learning as a group challenging. Some are covered with old labels, tape and residue that can't be removed. Others have items that have been glued on and then ripped off, leaving damage. All in all, the whiteboards we currently have aren't that effective for teaching. With some newer, cleaner whiteboards and some whiteboard markers, we'll be able to access instruction more effectively. We'll be able to write down assignments for classes, solve problems together, and keep track of daily notices and schedules. With the magnetic whiteboards, we are able to hang up important information, forms or notices; we can even use magnetic manipulatives to help complete assignments. As a special educator, I'll be able to instruct students using materials that better suite their needs.
