I am requesting planners and sensory toys my students need in order to stay organized and focused in their classes this year. These materials will make a difference in my students' learning in and outside of the classroom because they will be able to use the planners in each of their classes and organize them by subject and due dates. High school is different than middle school. There are more classes to keep track so having students carry a planner with them throughout the school day and write their homework down at the end of class will help inform them on what assignments they need to complete by each due date. Google Classroom can be confusing for some students to follow and keep track of what assignments are done when. Having a physical planner will hopefully prevent confusion in the future. Their planners will be a resource for the students to use at school and bring home. The sensory toys will not only help my students with ADHD and autism but every student in the classroom who is stressed or needs a fidget/ toy to help them remain focused and decrease their stress level when reading, writing, speaking to the class, or taking an assessment.
