On behalf of the Rachel Carson guitar club I want to send our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for you generosity. You have provided these students with more than just the gift of music, you have provided them a means of expression that they were previously lacking. Seeing the students unboxing the guitars when we received them was a true pleasure. And that pleasure has only increased as I bear witness to their growth and development in their music skills. We literally could not have done this without you! Keep on rockin'!!!”

Many of our students have grown up in a school system that lacks access to quality music programs. Through our after-school music club, we will provide students with a place to learn valuable skills, build self-confidence, and express themselves in a manner that goes beyond the core curriculum. This program is something my students have been asking to create for years, but the funding has never been there. This DonorsChoose project is the best way to give back to the student community and provide them with a resource that has been severely lacking in NYC.
