My Kinder, First, Second, and Third grade students are looking to make great progress in learning this year. These resources will be used to help them reach their goals for; writing narratives (W.1.3, W.2.3), reading comprehension to answer questions about a text (RI.1.1, RI.2.1, RL.1.1, RL.2.1, RF.K.3), mathematics using addition and subtraction (2.OA.A.1, 1.OA.A.1), and mathematics for comparing numbers using base ten (2.NBT.A.3, K.NBT.A.1). Having the materials and manipulatives for hands on learning will help my students make strides toward closing the COVID learning loss gap. My students need help with their fine motor skills specific to holding a pencil, utilizing the theraputty and pencil grips. These skills are essential for writing (all writing standards). Students will also use the pencils, composition notebooks, and Build a Story Flip Chart in their writing. The highlighters will be used to annotate reading passages for reading comprehension. The guided reading strips will also be used for reading fluency (R.F.1.4). The dry erase whiteboards, pockets, and expo markers will be used with writing and mathematics standards in an effort to reduce paper and printing costs.
