In our classroom, we are family. We gather around the table to solve problems, have well rounded discussions, work together and celebrate our weaknesses and strengths. For many students, reading is a weakness and for others it's a strength; both need to be fed. All readers no matter their level, weaknesses or strengths, should be given the ability to choose texts that are interesting, inspiring and wonderful, like finding a new friend. The best way to strengthen weaknesses and keep growing as readers is to simply, read. These books will be utilized for any student wishing to borrow a book during our sustained reading time in the classroom, and to support instruction.
