Microscopes for Middle School!

I want to write to you to express my heartfelt thanks for supporting science in my classroom. The microscopes you helped to purchase allowed 75 8 th grade students the opportunity to look at their world from a whole new perspective. One of my students was trying to look at hair, paper, their own art and tiny fuz pieces under the microscope. So far this year we have had a tutorial on how to use the microscope properly, a bacteria lab in which we looked at the three shapes bacteria come in and we are about to look through the microscope at pond water while learning about single celled organisms ( protists). We will be exploring fungi, plants and animal cells later in the year using the microscopes you helped to purchase. I have included a few photos from the first microscope day for your enjoyment.”
