Flexible Learning
Funded Nov 1, 2023Thank you for your donation to our classroom. I have wanted flexible seating in my classroom for a while, but the chairs were pricey. I was hoping to slowly add seating as money became available. I jumped at the chance to order the wobble chairs and wobble cushions for my classroom. In addition, I got some light covers for the lights in the front of my classroom. When I read books there tends to be a glare, but the covers reduce the amount of glare.
When I got my chairs, my class was so excited. I have enough chairs for half of my class to use them, while the other half get to use the wobble cushions. The chairs are by far the favorite, but they like having the different seating options. We also talked about the procedures of using the chairs and cushions so we could remain safe in our classroom.
For a bunch of wiggly first graders, this was such a blessing to have. I appreciate your willingness to donate so I can help my students learn.”

We Read to Learn And Have Fun
Funded Oct 10, 2021I first want to give you a heartfelt thanks for the gifts for my classroom. As a first grade teacher, I love to do anything to help my students with reading and learning. This gift provides both of those opportunities. My main choice was to get Scholastic news for my class. It was a good memory for me as a child and I want it to be a memory for my students as well.
I love that the Scholastic News is weekly and follows different themes for the month. In addition to the magazines, we also get the digital option which has videos and games that enhance our learning experience. They love learning about traditions around the world, famous people, and ways to help others.
I usually have themes for the week and will use the magazines to enhance what we are learning. For example, we learned about arctic animals and igloos this week. I received a magazine that addressed both. We were able to write about walruses and build a marshmallow igloo from what we learned.
This really is fun for the students and give them language rich material that they can take home and share with their families. Thank you for making it possible.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Lefort
